The family was traveling in a car from Pollachi towards Palladam when their vehicle collided with a lorry driven by Saravanan (39), who reportedly lost control. The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of Dhanapal (37), his wife Menaga (35), and their daughter Sneha (23). Two other family members, Kaniska (17) and Surjith (12), sustained injuries; Kaniska later succumbed to injuries at the hospital. Surjith was transferred to Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for further treatment. The lorry driver has been arrested, and investigations are ongoing. The bodies of the deceased have been sent for post-mortem examination as authorities await further details.
