The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has lodged a complaint with the Trichy district police against Congress MP Manickam Tagore for allegedly making defamatory statements about the party and its leader, Udhayanidhi Stalin. Murali Krishnan, DMK's IT Wing District Deputy Coordinator, claims that Tagore has been spreading false information intended to damage the party's reputation and incite unrest among its members. This complaint arises from a heated political exchange between the DMK and Congress, with Tagore criticizing Stalin's comments linking Congress to the BJP's electoral success. In response, Stalin accused Congress of betrayal, asserting that the party has exploited DMK's support for over two decades.
