The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has initiated the tendering process for a detailed design consultant for the Tughlakabad-Kalindi Kunj Phase V(A) corridor, which spans 3.9 km. This corridor is a vital extension of the Golden Line, currently under construction, connecting Aerocity to Tughlakabad. The tender includes plans for three elevated stations and the Sarita Vihar depot. This project is part of three key corridors approved by the Delhi government on February 11, which also includes a 2.26 km stretch from T-1 to Aerocity and a 9.9 km section between RK Ashram and Indraprastha. The overall project cost is estimated at ₹1,024.87 crore, with the Delhi government contributing ₹251.36 crore. DMRC officials noted that this tender marks the first step in the construction process, which is expected to enhance metro connectivity in south and southeast Delhi. The completion of the Tughlakabad-Kalindi Kunj stretch is targeted for 2028-29, while the Tughlakabad-Aerocity section is expected to be operational by the end of this year, with 71.3% of that work already completed.
