M. Lakshmana, spokesperson for the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), has issued a warning that 86 lakh voters across Karnataka, including 3.48 lakh in Mysuru, may face deletion from the electoral rolls due to their failure to be mapped in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR). This group constitutes 15% of the state's total electorate of 5.5 crore. Lakshmana highlighted that in Mysuru district, approximately 27.99 lakh voters are registered across 11 Assembly constituencies, with 59,700 unmapped voters in the Narasimharaja Assembly constituency alone. He claims that 43,000 of these unmapped voters are from the Muslim community, while the remaining belong to other religions. The KPCC spokesperson accused the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of engaging in vote manipulation through the Election Commission, aiming to prepare for the next Assembly elections in 2028. Additionally, Lakshmana criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent call to minimize spending on essential goods and services, suggesting it reflects an ongoing economic emergency in India, which he believes has adversely affected businesses and livelihoods across the nation.
