The IMD indicates that conditions are favorable for the monsoon to continue its progress into additional areas of Karnataka, the remaining regions of Tamil Nadu, and parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana over the next two to three days. The southwest monsoon initially made its onset in Kerala on June 4. Furthermore, IMD scientists predict that monsoon winds over the Bay of Bengal will strengthen starting June 11, facilitating the monsoon's advance towards Odisha, which is expected to occur between June 14 and 17. It is noteworthy that last year, the southwest monsoon reached Odisha on May 28, nearly two weeks ahead of its normal onset date of June 10.
