The Final Stitch 2026, a three-day Continuing Medical Education (CME) program, attracted over 350 delegates and 32 senior surgeons from across North India. Organized by the department of general surgery at B R Ambedkar State Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) in Mohali, in partnership with the Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Punjab Chapter, the conference took place at NIPER, Mohali. It served as a vital platform for academic discussions, clinical learning, and surgical skill development. Attendees engaged in lectures and expert sessions aimed at enhancing surgical knowledge and promoting continuous professional development. Punjab's Health and Family Welfare Minister, Dr. Balbir Singh, attended the event, encouraging young doctors to pursue lifelong learning and uphold high standards of professionalism in patient care. A highlight of the conference was the recognition of MBBS final-year university toppers from AIMS Mohali, with meritorious students receiving medals and commendation certificates. Disha, who achieved the highest marks in university examinations, was specially honored for her academic excellence. The conference successfully facilitated interaction between experienced surgeons and young medical professionals, reinforcing the importance of quality medical education in strengthening the healthcare system.
