The Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department conducted a successful operation in Aizawl, seizing 10.02 kg of methamphetamine, which is equivalent to one lakh tablets. This operation led to the arrest of four individuals, including a Myanmar national and two residents from Karimganj district in Assam, India. The raid occurred near Folkland Park on Wednesday after officials received a tip-off. The arrested individuals have been charged under Section 21(c) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985, and were presented in court on Thursday. Since the beginning of the year, the Excise Department has reported seizing a total of 7.24 kg of heroin, 49.39 kg of methamphetamine, and 90.83 kg of ganja, indicating a significant ongoing effort to combat drug trafficking in the region.
