A woman was found dead from stab wounds early Thursday in Kansas City's Northland, marking a tragic incident in the Maple Park West neighborhood. Police were called to the scene just before 12:15 a.m. following reports of a disturbance in the 4900 block of North Topping Avenue. Upon arrival, officers took a woman into custody who matched the description of a possible suspect. During the investigation, they were directed to a nearby home on Northeast 49th Street, where they discovered an unresponsive woman in the driveway. Emergency medical services pronounced her dead at the scene. Preliminary investigations revealed that the victim and the suspect are related and had been involved in an ongoing argument. Kansas City Police Department's homicide detectives and crime scene investigators are currently gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
