On Wednesday, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar of India engaged in a detailed phone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi regarding the escalating tensions in West Asia. Jaishankar shared the discussion on social media, noting their agreement to remain in close contact. The Iranian Embassy in New Delhi confirmed that the conversation covered various aspects, including the ceasefire and bilateral relations. Araghchi recently completed a tour of Pakistan, Oman, and Russia, where he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin and emphasized the importance of their strategic partnership. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also spoken with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian about the security situation in West Asia, condemning attacks on critical infrastructure and advocating for dialogue and diplomacy to resolve ongoing issues.
