In a significant reshuffle of Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers, the Tamil Nadu government has announced several key appointments. J Kumaragurubaran, the former commissioner of the Greater Chennai Corporation, has been appointed as the secretary to the government for commercial taxes, registration, and religious endowments, succeeding Shilpa Prabhakar Satish, who will now serve as the commissioner of labour. Additionally, Dr S Swarna has been designated as the principal secretary for the tourism, culture, and special initiatives department. Another notable change includes Dr D Karthikeyan, who has been appointed as the principal secretary-chairman and managing director of the Tamil Nadu Industrial Development Corporation (TIDCO). Other transfers involve Sandhya Venugopal Sharma moving to the planning and development department and G Prakash taking on a new role in revenue administration. The reshuffle also sees Kiran Gurrala and Dr T G Vinay receiving new postings in town planning and green energy, respectively.
