In Goa, the first Class X batch following the National Education Policy (NEP) achieved a 94.5% pass rate, with 19,486 students successfully completing the exam. This represents a slight decline from the previous year's 95.3%. Bhagirath Shetye, chairperson of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, noted that the drop is attributed to normal fluctuations and various factors. Among the students, 9,414 girls and 10,072 boys participated, with girls outperforming boys, achieving a pass percentage of 96.5% compared to 94.4% for boys. The examination included 10 subjects, with six regular subjects assessed through board exams and four skill-based subjects evaluated by schools. Notably, the subject of basic mathematics recorded the lowest pass rate at 91.4%, whereas standard mathematics had a much higher pass rate of 99.7%. The examination took place from March 13 to April 9 across 32 centers, and results were announced within 14 days, showcasing improved efficiency in the assessment process.
