According to court documents, Applegate, a complete stranger to Carpenter, allegedly began targeting her residence as early as April 20, 2026. The situation escalated dramatically on May 23, when Applegate trespassed onto a neighboring property and attempted to enter Carpenter's home by forcefully pushing down on the door handle. After knocking and ringing the doorbell repeatedly, he was arrested by police. Carpenter's declaration emphasized that she has never met Applegate, who falsely claimed to know her. The court found evidence of Applegate's stalking behavior, leading to a restraining order that mandates he remain at least 100 yards away from Carpenter, her home, and her family members. Applegate is scheduled to appear in court for trespassing charges on June 18, with a hearing on the restraining order set for June 17.
