Zydus Lifesciences has announced a revision in its share buyback program, increasing the repurchase price to ₹1,260 per share from the previously set ₹1,150. Concurrently, the company has reduced the maximum number of shares to be repurchased to 87.3 lakh from 95.65 lakh, while maintaining the total buyback outlay at ₹1,100 crore. This buyback will be executed through a tender offer in compliance with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) regulations. The record date to determine eligible shareholders for the buyback is set for May 29, 2026. Zydus Lifesciences has shown strong performance, reporting a 9% increase in consolidated net profit for the January-March quarter of FY26, totaling ₹1,272.5 crore. Its revenue also saw a significant rise of over 16%, reaching ₹7,587 crore during the same period. The company’s shares have performed well, gaining 19% over the past year, contrasting with negative returns from major indices like the Nifty and BSE Sensex.
