- 01Morbe dam currently holds 82.557 million cubic metres, or 43.24% of its capacity.
- 02Usable water stock is at 51.957 million cubic metres, sufficient for just over three months.
- 03El Niño may cause rainfall to drop to 92%-94% of the long-term average.

Navi Mumbai is under an early water alert due to dwindling reserves in the Morbe dam, which currently holds 82.557 million cubic metres (43.24% of its capacity). Municipal commissioner Kailas Shinde reported that after accounting for emergency reserves, the usable water stock is down to 51.957 million cubic metres, enough for just over three months at the current drawal rate of 476.847 million litres per day. Concerns over the upcoming monsoon season are heightened by El Niño, which may result in rainfall at only 92%-94% of the long-term average of 3,617 mm annually. To fully replenish the reservoir, 3,600 mm of rainfall is now needed this year. Shinde has urged residents to conserve water to avoid harsher measures in case of delayed monsoon inflows, although no formal water cuts have been announced yet.
