A nine-year-old girl was allegedly attacked by her maternal grandfather in Pune, India, near Parvati Hill on Tuesday evening. The accused, a 50-year-old man previously expelled from the family for stealing, was detained by neighbors after the girl cried for help. This was reportedly not the first attempt; the girl had previously kept quiet about an earlier incident. Following the event, the girl's father, an auto-rickshaw driver, expressed his outrage and called for the death penalty for the accused.
