Jairam Ramesh, Congress general secretary for communications, criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government for its perceived leniency towards China, questioning why trade restrictions are being relaxed and why India is increasing its industrial dependency on Chinese imports. Ramesh pointed out that engineers from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China's Chengdu Aircraft Design and Research Institute confirmed their involvement in supporting the Pakistani Air Force during the conflict. He emphasized the need for transparency and accountability from the government regarding its dealings with China, especially after the revelations made public by Deputy Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Rahul Singh in July 2025. The Congress party's demand for a parliamentary discussion comes amid rising concerns over national security and foreign policy towards China.
