Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited Rudraprayag on Thursday to assess the preparations for the Char Dham Yatra, scheduled to commence on April 19, 2024. The pilgrimage will begin with the opening of the Gangotri and Yamunotri temples in Uttarkashi district. The gates of Kedarnath in Rudraprayag will open on April 22, followed by Badrinath in Chamoli on April 23. During his visit, Dhami inspected various locations, including the Jawadi bypass and landslide-prone areas, ensuring that arrangements for pilgrims' movement are adequate. In a meeting with the Union Home Ministry, officials discussed disaster management protocols and the establishment of transit shelters for emergencies.
