Authorities canceled major celebrations and inaugurations, including projects worth ₹10,000 crore that were to be launched by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. The protests highlight ongoing unrest among factory workers in the region. In response, opposition leaders from the Samajwadi Party, Congress, and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) visited to support the workers. Officials stated that large public gatherings were deemed inappropriate given recent violence in industrial areas, leading to the cancellation of all events except for a puja and symbolic cake-cutting ceremony. Established on April 17, 1976, Noida is a major industrial center, employing approximately 1.5 million people and contributing significantly to the state's revenue. The planned inaugurations may be rescheduled once the situation stabilizes.
