On Thursday, Greater Noida police arrested six individuals for allegedly defrauding people by offering fake loans under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP), which is designed to assist in starting small businesses. The suspects, aged between 21 and 38, were apprehended during a raid in a high-rise in Greater Noida's Sector 1 after police received a tip-off. They reportedly used social media advertisements to attract victims, charging them ₹3,000 as a registration fee and ₹18,000 as an insurance processing fee.
