Abdul Karim Al Zubi, a Jordanian student studying in Bengaluru, reported a harrowing incident where he was allegedly abducted by a gang posing as officials from the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO). The incident took place at his residence in HRBR Layout, Kalyan Nagar, around 6 am, when six unidentified men entered his home, claiming to conduct a search. They threatened Zubi and his acquaintances at knifepoint, robbing them of ₹1.37 lakh (approximately $1,650 USD), a scooter, and an iPhone. The gang also coerced them into selling narcotics, threatening violence if they refused. After several hours of being driven around Bengaluru, Zubi and his acquaintance were released, but the threats continued via phone calls. Zubi's attempts to file a complaint were initially thwarted by police citing technical difficulties. His advocate, Owaiz Hussain, has filed a formal complaint seeking action against the perpetrators and urging the police to register an FIR for serious offenses including kidnapping and armed robbery. The police have yet to register the FIR but are expected to investigate further.
