On Friday, a violent incident unfolded in Patna’s Musallahpur Haat area when Chris, the son of Neeraj Kumar, the owner of a private girls' hostel, attacked four female students with a knife. The altercation arose from a dispute over rent, which escalated quickly, prompting Chris to lash out in anger. The students, who were staying in the hostel, managed to flee and sought safety, while locals alerted the police. Authorities responded promptly, arresting Chris and recovering the weapon used in the attack. The injured students were taken to Patna Medical College and Hospital for treatment, where they are reported to be out of danger. Police are currently investigating the incident, questioning both the students and the hostel owner. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rajesh Ranjan, the conflict was rooted in disagreements over room rent involving the hostel owner's wife. The Musallahpur Haat area is known for accommodating numerous students who reside in hostels while preparing for various competitive examinations.
