A senior delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), led by Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, attended the World Digital Education Conference 2026 in Hangzhou, China. The conference, themed 'AI + Education: Transformation, Development, Governance,' aimed to explore the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education. The UAE is keen to adopt similar strategies to enhance its educational framework and develop a skilled workforce. The delegation comprised officials from the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, along with representatives from five prominent UAE universities, including Khalifa University and Zayed University. During the conference, sessions focused on global digital education trends and best practices in applying AI to improve learning outcomes. Additionally, the UAE delegation met with leaders from Tsinghua University and Shanghai Jiao Tong University to discuss potential collaborations, including academic exchanges and joint research initiatives in fields such as AI, medicine, and engineering. This effort is part of the UAE's strategy to bolster its international academic partnerships and advance its digital transformation agenda.
