Students from the UAE are increasingly securing seats in prestigious Indian medical colleges at remarkably low fees, with some paying as little as ₹18,000 (approximately Dh700) annually. A. Ameen, Head of Operations at Unique World Education, emphasized the importance of early preparation, structured coaching, and understanding admission pathways during a session at the Gulf News Edufair in Abu Dhabi. He noted that students can become IITians or doctors if they start preparing early. For engineering aspirants, admissions to National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are available through the Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) scheme, with fees around ₹85,000 per year. Ameen highlighted the competitive nature of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), where approximately 2.2 million students compete for around 100,000 MBBS seats. He warned that lower scores could lead to higher fees in management quota seats, which can range from ₹800,000 to ₹1.5 million annually. Additionally, Ameen cautioned that foreign medical education does not exempt students from NEET requirements for practicing in India.
