Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd. (APSEZ) has secured a significant 10-year marine services contract in Argentina, aimed at facilitating the country's first liquefied natural gas (LNG) export to India. This contract, valued at approximately $70 million USD, was awarded to APSEZ's subsidiary, The Adani Harbour International FZCO, through a consortium with the Argentina-based Meridian Group. The consortium will provide comprehensive marine services for the Southern Energy Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project, which includes tugboat operations, offshore logistics, and crew transfer services. The project is poised to enhance Argentina's role as a major LNG supplier, with plans to export up to 10 million tonnes of LNG annually to India by 2027. The Southern Energy FLNG project, developed by Southern Energy S.A. (SESA), is expected to commence commercial operations in September 2027, producing 2.45 million tonnes of LNG each year, equivalent to about 28 cargoes. This initiative reflects APSEZ's commitment to supporting large-scale energy infrastructure across various geographies.
