In a significant ceremony held at the Kumaon Regimental Centre (KRC) in Ranikhet, Uttarakhand, 1,170 Agniveers were officially inducted into the Indian Army on Saturday. The event featured a passing-out and oath-taking parade, where Brigadier Vijayant Mahadik congratulated the new soldiers, highlighting the honor associated with serving in the Army. Amid chants of 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' and 'Vande Mataram', the recruits marched proudly through the Bahadurgarh Gate, greeted by thousands of family members and military personnel. The Agniveers pledged to uphold the nation's sovereignty, a promise administered by religious leaders. After the ceremony, emotional reunions took place, with family members expressing their pride and joy. Deepa Rana, mother of Agniveer Abhishek, shared her happiness, stating it was one of the proudest moments of her life. Brigadier Mahadik also thanked the families for their support, emphasizing the importance of their encouragement in fostering a spirit of national service among the youth.
