On Tuesday, the Jharkhand cabinet approved the construction of two flyovers in Ranchi, enhancing urban connectivity. The first flyover, spanning 3.804 km, will connect Argora Chowk to Dibdih Bridge, with a budget of approximately ₹469.61 crore (around $56.5 million USD). The second flyover will link Karamtoli to Science City, costing about ₹351.14 crore (around $42.5 million USD) for its 3.216 km length. Additionally, the cabinet granted post-facto approval for the Jharkhand Teacher Eligibility Test Rules-2026, which had previously faced opposition due to the contentious list of optional regional languages. While Nagpuri has been approved for Palamu and Garhwa districts, demands for the inclusion of Magahi, Bhojpuri, and Angika have been denied. The cabinet also decided to double the number of beneficiaries under the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Munda Overseas Scholarship Scheme from 25 to 50 students annually, supporting higher education for students from various backgrounds.
