The Uttar Pradesh government has introduced the 'Visit My State' initiative to stimulate domestic tourism amid global uncertainties. This comprehensive plan includes free entry to state-run museums for children and families over the next two months and potential 20-25% discounts at Rahi tourist guest houses during the summer vacation. The initiative aims to encourage travelers to explore major religious and heritage sites such as Ayodhya, Varanasi, Mathura-Vrindavan, Agra, Prayagraj, and Mirzapur, promoting longer stays and increased local spending. Additionally, the government plans to integrate gaushala visits into temple tourism and enhance wellness, rural, wildlife, eco, and cuisine tourism across the state. Partnerships with hotels and tour operators will provide bundled discounts and travel packages. The initiative also includes promoting local products and organizing food festivals under the One District One Cuisine program. To align with the central government's advisory on reducing non-essential expenses, tourism officials will minimize fuel consumption and adopt carpooling. A social media campaign will further highlight lesser-known destinations in Uttar Pradesh.
