The ruling Civil Contract party of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has emerged victorious in the parliamentary elections, securing 49.81% of the votes and gaining the right to independently form the cabinet. The elections, held on June 7, saw a turnout of 58.97% across 2,005 polling stations. The Strong Armenia bloc, led by businessman Samvel Karapetyan, received 23.29%, while the bloc of former President Robert Kocharyan, Armenia, garnered 9.94%. Notably, the Prosperous Armenia party did not cross the 4% threshold required to enter parliament, receiving only 3.996%. Pashinyan declared the elections a victory and expressed intentions to strengthen ties with the European Union while maintaining Armenia's membership in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). Despite this win, experts noted that the Civil Contract party lacks a constitutional majority, which could impact future legislative changes. Observers from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) reported no significant violations during the election process.
