The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) commenced the re-evaluation of Class 12 answer scripts using its new on-screen marking (OSM) portal, which is designed to be more secure and efficient than the previously used Coempt Edu Teck’s OnMark platform. The change comes after significant concerns regarding data security. Between June 2 and 7, over 160,000 students filed requests for verification and objections regarding more than 380,000 answer scripts. Teachers involved in the process reported that they can now evaluate only the specific questions flagged by students, ensuring a fair review without bias from original marks. However, many students are still facing issues, particularly in receiving scanned copies of their answer scripts, which is crucial for them to apply for re-evaluation. Anup Kumar Singh, a student from Delhi, expressed frustration over not receiving his scanned copies despite payment, highlighting ongoing operational challenges. CBSE officials have not commented on these complaints, raising concerns about the effectiveness of the new system.
