In Tamil Nadu, the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) has firmly rejected the Thamizhar Vizhuthugal Katchi (TVK)'s request for an alliance, following TVK's failure to secure the necessary support to reach the magical number of 118 seats. IUML national president K.M. Khader Mohideen stated that their alliance with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) is based on ideological grounds, rooted in historical ties that began during the leadership of late Chief Ministers C.N. Annadurai and M. Karunanidhi. Meanwhile, the Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) are scheduled to hold meetings on Friday to discuss whether to extend support to TVK. CPI state secretary M. Veerapandian indicated that the outcome will be deliberated in subsequent governing council meetings.
