Beginning on May 19, Ottawa will implement lane closures on Riverside Drive at the intersection with Bank Street as part of the ongoing Bank Street renewal project. The construction aims to replace underground sewers and water mains and reconstruct roads and sidewalks. Eastbound lanes of Riverside Drive will be closed between Data Centre Road and Neil Way, with traffic redirected to use the westbound lanes. These closures are expected to last until late summer, and left turns will be prohibited at the intersection starting on the same day. This construction project is part of a two-phase renewal of Bank Street, with the first phase focusing on the area between Riverside Drive and Collins Avenue, expected to be completed next year. The City of Ottawa is investing over $691 million in various infrastructure projects this year, including road rehabilitation and bridge repairs.
