Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is set to launch 330 new road projects in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, with an investment of ₹3,550 crore under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) Batch-II. These projects will span 1,600 kilometers and aim to improve connectivity for 363 habitations across the region. The event, scheduled to take place at SKICC in Srinagar, will also feature Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary. Since the inception of the PMGSY in 2000, Jammu and Kashmir has seen the construction of 3,328 roads, creating a total road network of 19,851 kilometers along with 257 bridges. Chouhan emphasized that this initiative demonstrates the government's commitment to delivering tangible development and ensuring that infrastructure reaches even the most remote areas.
