The outbreak was identified after illness cases surpassed the 3% threshold for notification to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Symptoms experienced by those affected included vomiting and diarrhea, typical of norovirus infections. The outbreak prompted the cruise line to implement enhanced sanitation measures throughout the voyage. Passengers reported that the atmosphere on board remained normal, with activities continuing despite the situation.
