Brazil is currently treating two suspected cases of Ebola involving men from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda. The 37-year-old Congolese man is isolated in São Paulo, displaying symptoms such as fever, while laboratory tests are ongoing to confirm his condition. In Rio de Janeiro, a Ugandan man, who arrived in Brazil on May 22, is also under quarantine, showing symptoms like coughing, chills, and diarrhea. Local health authorities have indicated he may be suffering from malaria, but further examinations are underway. Despite these cases, officials maintain that the risk of an Ebola outbreak in Brazil remains very low. The ongoing outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, which began on May 15, has resulted in 263 confirmed cases and 43 deaths, prompting a global health alert from the World Health Organization. The virus has been detected in three provinces of DR Congo and Uganda, with more than 1,100 suspected cases still being investigated.
