Notably, juvenile crime rates in Delhi surged to 41.6%, far exceeding the national average of 7.9%. Despite a 15% overall decrease in crime cases compared to 2023, with 2,75,402 cases registered, Delhi remains a focal point for various criminal activities. The report indicates that 1,058 rape cases were registered in Delhi, the highest among all metros, although many were found to lack sufficient evidence. The police attribute the high crime rates partly to the rapid registration of cases and the prevalence of false complaints. Furthermore, kidnapping and abduction cases also peaked at 5,580, while murder cases saw a slight decline to 504. Cybercrime cases decreased to 404, remaining significantly lower than the national average.
