In a tragic incident in Mehrpurwa locality of Deoria district, Uttar Pradesh, India, a woman named Anjali (30) and her two sons, Harishankar (7) and Nagendra, died after allegedly consuming poison. They were found in critical condition at their home and rushed to Maharishi Devrahva Baba Medical College, where Anjali and Harishankar were declared dead upon arrival, while Nagendra succumbed to his condition later. Following the incident, police detained Anjali's husband after family members accused him and his relatives of poisoning the victims. Circle officer Sanjay Reddy stated that the cremation took place at Patna Bridge on the Chhoti Gandak river.
