Sueyoshi has an extensive academic background, having served in various roles at San Francisco State University, including dean of the College of Ethnic Studies. She holds a PhD in history from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her research intersects Asian American Studies and Queer Studies. The university community is encouraged to attend the forums and provide feedback during the selection process.
