The Special Cell of Delhi Police has apprehended two operatives, Rajveer (21) and Vivek Banjara (19), from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, for allegedly plotting grenade attacks and target killings in the Delhi-NCR region. The arrests were made on April 16 and 18, 2023, following a criminal conspiracy linked to Shahzad Bhatti, a gangster based in Pakistan and an operative of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). The police uncovered that the duo was recruited through social media and tasked with executing violent acts. During their investigation, authorities recovered a pistol, six live cartridges, and incriminating materials from their possession. Rajveer was reportedly preparing to target a prominent hotel in Delhi-NCR when arrested. The investigation revealed that both accused were promised easy money, which lured them into the criminal network. They had previously traveled to Amritsar, Punjab, to collect weapons for planned attacks. The police are continuing their investigation to identify other potential members of this conspiracy.
