On Sunday, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party conducted statewide training sessions for counting agents in Tamil Nadu, focusing on procedures to be followed inside the 62 counting centers established for the upcoming elections. Party leadership directed senior functionaries to ensure thorough briefings for agents, with ministers and district leaders holding meetings to reinforce adherence to guidelines. Each counting table will have one agent, with a minimum of 16 tables set up in each center. This includes agents for Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and postal ballots, with the number of agents increasing based on postal vote counts. Training sessions, led by organisational secretary R S Bharathi and legal wing secretary N R Elango, emphasized three key instructions: verifying the integrity of strong room seals, ensuring serial numbers on EVM pink slips match, and checking the condition of the green paper seal inside EVMs. Agents were also instructed to cross-check vote counts with Form 17C to prevent discrepancies, reflecting DMK's commitment to closely monitor the counting process.
