The Delhi Police Vigilance Branch has arrested a head constable from the Kamla Market police station for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹50,000. The officer was apprehended during a sting operation, and the investigation is ongoing. This incident is part of a larger anti-corruption effort by the Delhi Police. In a separate case, the Rouse Avenue Court has extended the custody of Colonel Himanshu Bali, who is implicated in a ₹50 lakh bribery scandal related to defence procurement. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is also holding two defence suppliers, Akshat and Mayank Agarwal, who were arrested after allegedly attempting to evade investigation. The CBI claims that Bali accepted bribes to manipulate tenders and approve substandard materials for private firms. The agency is currently analyzing recovered evidence, including financial transactions and communications, to identify further individuals involved in the conspiracy. Another accused, Yash Gupta, remains in custody, with his bail hearing set for May 30.
