M. K. Stalin, former Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu and president of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), has publicly supported the decision of alliance partners to back the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) in forming a new government. In a post on X, he stressed the necessity for political stability in the state and urged coalition parties to work together to prevent another election. Stalin acknowledged the support from Left parties, the VCK, and other allies during the political turmoil, while also criticizing the Congress party for its lack of engagement with the DMK after the election results. He assured that the DMK would function as a constructive opposition and would not hinder the formation of the new government, despite the coalition falling short of a majority. Furthermore, he expressed hope that the incoming government would continue the welfare initiatives aimed at various community segments that were launched during his administration.
