In Vijay Nagar, Ghaziabad, India, a 40-year-old man was arrested for allegedly attacking a 35-year-old man with a sword late Thursday evening. The attack occurred outside a housing society when the victim was passing by on his bike. The suspect, a resident of the same society, confronted the victim and struck him with a sword, resulting in serious injuries, including the severing of part of the victim's ear. Following the incident, the victim filed a complaint, leading to the registration of an FIR under Section 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which addresses grievous hurt caused by dangerous means. Police utilized CCTV footage and local information to trace and arrest the suspect on Friday. During interrogation, the suspect claimed that the attack was provoked by the victim's comments about his wife, although no prior complaints had been made regarding this issue. The incident was captured on CCTV and subsequently went viral on social media.
