Jigisha Gajera, a 30-year-old woman from Gujarat, India, is in critical condition following a gunshot wound sustained on April 4 at Mezo Grocery and Deli in Bossier City, Louisiana. The incident, described by police as an accidental firing, involved her husband, Sharad Gajera, who was in possession of the firearm when it discharged, causing severe injuries to her face. Eyewitnesses reported hearing the gunshot while the couple was discussing a potential purchase of the store with the owner. Sharad was arrested on April 21 after surrendering to authorities on charges of illegal use of a weapon. Doctors indicate that Jigisha's recovery will be long and complex, requiring multiple surgical procedures, including jaw and facial reconstruction. A crowdfunding campaign has been initiated to support her medical treatment, aiming to raise $200,000 (approximately ₹1.9 crore). As of April 24, the campaign has raised $9,135 (around ₹8.6 lakh), highlighting the urgent need for financial assistance.
