Delhi Airport announced that international flight operations will commence from Pier C at Terminal 3 starting next month. This conversion is projected to boost the airport's international passenger handling capacity by 50%, accommodating nearly 10 million additional passengers annually, raising the total capacity to approximately 30-32 million passengers per annum (MPPA). The upgrade includes the introduction of 12 new Self-Baggage Drop counters, 20 emigration counters, and 5 Automatic Tray Retrieval System lanes to enhance efficiency and reduce waiting times. Additionally, 16 boarding gates will be converted for international operations, and 40 new Bureau of Immigration counters will be installed in arrivals. These improvements are expected to strengthen the airport's capability to handle wide-body aircraft, including the A350, and enhance overall operational flexibility.
