In a significant move to empower women in technology, the Odisha higher education department has launched a program aimed at training 1,000 girls each year in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies. The initiative was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Edunet Foundation, supported by Microsoft. The training will cover a comprehensive 240 hours of coursework, including subjects such as data science, machine learning, cyber security, Python programming, and data analytics. A key component of the program is a module titled ‘Career Opportunities for Women in Artificial Intelligence,’ designed to inform participants about the expanding job market in this field. Additionally, students will engage in capstone projects and receive assistance for internships and placements. Upon successful completion, participants will earn certificates from both Edunet Foundation and Microsoft.
