Authorities discovered that Sharma had attempted to sell these counterfeit injections in Delhi's Bhagirath Palace market but failed to make any sales. A total of 262 fake Mounjaro injections were recovered, alongside 22 'Toneup' injections that were recalled from cities like Delhi and Hyderabad. Gurugram's Drug Control Officer Amandeep Chauhan stated that the counterfeit products were not approved by any regulatory body and had not undergone testing, posing serious health risks. The packaging of the counterfeit drugs contained noticeable discrepancies, including color differences and typographical errors.
