VisitEngland has unveiled the winners of its 2026 Awards for Excellence, recognizing the best pubs and restaurants across the UK. The ceremony, held on June 3 at Aerospace Bristol, highlighted six establishments for their exceptional dining and beverage offerings. The gold award for Pub of the Year was awarded to The Kirkstyle Inn and Sportsman’s Rest in the village of Slaggyford, Northumberland, known for its picturesque countryside views and welcoming atmosphere. The silver award went to The Tickled Trout in Barlow, Derbyshire, praised for its diverse menu, while the bronze was awarded to The Tollemache Arms in Northamptonshire. In the Taste of England category, Carriages Restaurant in Hertfordshire received the gold award, described by patrons as a must-visit gem. Other notable mentions include Eight at Gazegill in Lancashire and Blackfriars Restaurant in Newcastle, which also received accolades.
