He remarked on the 'big things' anticipated in this sector, emphasizing the importance of nuclear energy in addressing India's growing electricity demand. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted that while the state has made significant investments in solar and wind energy, nuclear power will be crucial for providing a carbon-free, industrial-scale baseload power supply. With Maharashtra being a hub for over 40% of India’s foreign investment and nearly 60% of its data center capacity, the demand for electricity is expected to surge due to advancements in sectors like semiconductors and artificial intelligence. Fadnavis urged American companies to invest in Maharashtra's nuclear energy sector to help meet this demand. Additionally, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed eagerness to celebrate the US's 250th anniversary with India, underscoring the strengthening diplomatic ties between the two countries.
