In a significant ruling, a Delhi court has ordered a fresh investigation into the disappearance of two community dogs, Kaddu and Brownie, from Indira Gandhi International Airport. The court expressed strong dissatisfaction with the police's previous investigation, labeling it as apathetic and lacking serious effort. The dogs were reportedly taken for sterilization, with Kaddu missing since March 26 and Brownie since April 2. Eyewitness accounts suggest they were removed using unauthorized vehicles, which violates the Animal Birth Control (ABC) Rules, 2023. The court highlighted the need for accountability, stating that the police have shown little interest in determining the dogs' current status or their relocation details. The Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) previously claimed that one of the dogs had been returned to its area after showing aggression, but failed to provide further details about the removal process or the number of dog bite incidents reported at the airport. An award of ₹50,000 has been offered by caregivers for credible information regarding the dogs' whereabouts, underscoring the community's commitment to animal welfare.
