The Hong Kong and China Gas Company Limited (Towngas) has entered into a strategic partnership with Tencent to accelerate the digital transformation of the energy sector. This collaboration focuses on unified cloud resource management, the development of digital platforms, and the application of large artificial intelligence (AI) models. Over the past six years, Towngas and Tencent have worked together on various projects, including the Towngas Lifestyle Cloud (TLC) platform and the Towngas Analytics Platform (TAP), which supports over 70 city-gas companies. The partnership aims to enhance customer engagement for the 46 million household customers served by Towngas across Hong Kong and mainland China. Towngas's Managing Director, Mr. Peter Wong Wai-yee, emphasized the importance of data security as the company manages a vast customer base. Tencent's Senior Executive Vice President, Mr. Dowson Tong, noted the alignment of Towngas's customer-centric philosophy with Tencent's mission to leverage technology for good. The companies plan to deepen their collaboration in cloud migration, AI applications, and customer service enhancements, setting a benchmark for the energy industry’s transformation.
